When planning your honeymoon, a destination that is romantic and tropical may be tops on your list. Look no further than Hawaii, especially if you are a U.S. resident - because it is part of the United States, you will not deal with international issues when travelling to Hawaii, and yet you will feel as if you are a million miles from 'normal life' in this tropical paradise.
Hawaii is actually one of an archipelago of islands in the Pacific, halfway between North America and Asia. Other islands include Maui, Lanai and Kauai. According to Wikipedia, with the exception of Easter Island Hawaii is farther away from land than any other landmass on Earth. Because of the remote location of these islands, the influences of local culture and fauna and flora are quite unique and special, found nowhere else in the world. Hawaii and its' surrounding islands are world renowned for their beautiful volcanic mountains, miles of beaches and fantastic ocean surfing. Hawaii is known for its beautiful tropical flowers and climate as well as its warm friendly and peaceful people.
You and your sweetie may wish to explore the Hawaiian islands and squeeze all the fun out of your honeymoon vacation as you can. Some unique ways to enjoy Hawaii include:
- A day or evening cruise which takes you offshore you can enjoy the magnificent vista of mountain, ocean and sky. If you are lucky, you will see some whales or dolphins. You may also book a full-fledged cruise and spend your time travelling among several islands, rather than staying in one place. In this way you can experience visit a few cities and beaches while you are on your honeymoon.
- Rent bicycles or go horseback riding. Hawaii is a beautiful island to tour in a slow, romantic way, and there is nothing like riding along the beach on a horse. There are backroads that can be toured by bicycle, and you will get a great workout as well!
- Helicopter: one amazing and unforgettable way to see Hawaii is by helicopter, or even by ultralight for the true open-air lover. Seeing the mountains and volcanos from above is a view that can't be beat, and definitely is not available from the ground. You may even get to see a live volcano or some flowing lava. This makes for fantastic pictures, too!
In Hawaii and on the other islands, you will find lots to see and do. There are often arts and music festivals and many other happenings.
